What's for dinner? That age old question that usually comes with a sigh at the end of it. It happens in my house as often as it happens everywhere else.
I used to always make a weekly meal plan that would see us through the work week. I planned my meals and then did my grocery shopping around what I was planning to cook. It worked well, made my life easy and there were no complaints from the rest of the house. Then time went by and I started this thing called a food blog! As I am always trying to come up with new ideas and recipes for my family and to share with all of you, that approach changed. Now I do my shopping and make up meals based on what's in the basket. I still aim to shop once a week, with some small trips to the local fruit and vegetable shop up the road. It works and I enjoy it, well most of the time.
Each week I aim to create at least one new main course that hopefully then becomes a feature on the blog and something that we enjoy and can make again and again. This doesn't always work out as there are lots of epic fails! Meat that you need a chainsaw to cut through (that happened this weekend), curdled sauces, too sweet desserts, burnt vegetables and the list goes on and on. Maybe I should make a section of failures? For now, lets see what could be on your dinner table this week.

Monday Kicking off the week with these super easy and very satisfying Mexican Rice Bowls. I made them last month and have made them several times since. So good and makes for a very filling meal all on it's own.
Tuesday Things are heating up and we have been breaking out the barbecue. These Curried Kebabs make a great dinner. Add a salad on the side and you are all done for a quick and easy dinner.
Wednesday We made this Teriyaki Salmon and Stir Fry Noodles last Monday and boy is it ever good. It can be all cooked in 30 minutes which is just what everyone needs for mid week dinners
Thursday Because I love pasta, every single week we have one pasta dish for dinner. Always! It is like a unwritten rule in our house. This Buttery Lemon Pasta is so quick and delicious. Add a salad on the side and you have a complete dinner for four!
Friday Yes, made it to the end of the week once again. I don't know about you, but I love cooking at weekends. Spending more time in the kitchen to hopefully make something yummy. Okay, so that doesn't always happen, but I am hopeful. This Beef and Squash Tagine is something you need a little more time for, but it is worth it in the end result. Something you need to plan but tastes absolutely delicious and worth every minute in the kitchen.
