Back to Monday and back to the meal plans. This week we are focusing on the smaller people, you know, kids! Sometimes, it is difficult to please adults and kids alike. This seems to be the story of my life. If I didn't have to cater to the smaller people of the house, I think about the freedom I would have. Ummm. But that's not every day reality in our house. So, for the most part I target week night meals to please the whole family. This week I have put together some dishes that are sure to please a variation of taste buds.
Monday This Oven Roasted Turkey Parmesan is a great family meal. Just serve some pasta on the side and you are all set to start the week.
Tuesday Seriously great Meatballs in Tomato Sauce are sure to win over any kid, big or small. Serve with some rice and steamed broccoli and that's dinner.
Wednesday If you are struggling to get green vegetables into your kids, put them into a creamy pasta dish! This Creamy Broccoli Penne Pasta will be sure to win them over. Oh, the photo is quite dated but I had to share it because it is so good. It just might be on my hit list for a makeover soon.
Thursday Fish and kids can be a tricky combination, I know. These Crispy Cod Cakes just might change their minds. They don't have a strong fishy flavour and with the crispy coating, you might just be able to convince them that it's not fish!
Friday Okay, so these Mini Mac and Cheese will win over the kids and adults alike. A great way to end of off a school and work week by diving into these creamy little pots of deliciousness.
Saturday These really are the Best Crispy Chicken Strips. I have been told, okay by my kids, that these are better than any take out version! Well, that never happens so I'll take it. I gotta' say, I quite like them as well. So next time the kids of the house want to take a trip for some fast food, make these instead and you won't be disappointed. And if you really want to go all out, serve them with Country Fries for extra goodness.
Sunday This is my all time favourite lasagna. Instead of using the traditional ground beef this is a Chicken & Spinach version and it's fantastic. It does take a while to put together so you are pressed for time, you might want to make it in advance. Usually, I put it together in the morning and refrigerate it until dinner time. Then straight to the oven and dinner is ready!
Sunday I have never eaten anything I didn't like with dulce de leche. This Dulce de Leche Brownie Torte is a must try dessert and I am certain will be devoured by all!
Check back next week for some more delicious menu ideas!
