I know I only recently made a smoked salmon post, but we had these today and I had to share.
I can't remember having any party in recent years, where I didn't serve these. They are always a pleaser. Today, they were served to the family at lunch.
Smoked Salmon and Basil Rolls
First, prepare the filling by combining the cream cheese, heavy cream, fresh chopped basil and lemon juice in a bowl. Stir well to combine.
Lay out the smoked salmon on a cutting board. Place a small amount of the filling on each slice and spread out until the surface is evenly covered. Now roll them up lengthways. Repeat for each slice. Once they are all done, you will have 6 large salmon rolls. So, cut each one in half to get yourself 12. Arrange the basil leaves and place a roll in each leaf. Top with a little of the cream cheese and a pinch of a basil leaf. Squeeze over fresh lemon juice and fresh ground black pepper.
They won't last long!
