Recipe Tips For These Italian Peppers

  • Pat the peppers dry – before roasting, pat the peppers dry. This will ensure a crisper roasted pepper
  • Pierce holes in the flesh – it’s important to pierce a few holes in the peppers. This will make sure they don’t burst while roasting.
  • Serve hot and fresh – Serve these roasted peppers straight out of the oven and you won’t be disappointed. Delish! I recently served them with the Pan Fried Hake for a complete dinner.

Other Cooking Methods

  • Shallow fry the peppers – heat olive oil or vegetable oil in a skillet set over medium to high heat. Make sure the oil is about 3 inches deep. Place the dry peppers in the oil and fry for about 5 – 6 minutes until golden and soft. Remove and drain on paper towels, sprinkle with salt and serve.
  • Barbecue the Italian peppers – the best way to barbecue these peppers is on indirect heat. Otherwise you risk burning them. You can place them on a sheet of foil directly on the barbecue.
