Is there such a thing as too easy? Well, I am all for easy when it comes to food. This is a classic case of minimal ingredients, zero skill with great results. Sometimes life gets too busy or hectic to put a three course meal on the table. I say reach for the pasta pot!
Seriously it has been busy and hectic lately. Some evenings we have been having cereal for dinner. Yes cereal. Life will get calmer and when it does cooking will be back on board in full fashion! In the meantime, when I have been cooking lately, easy food has been centre stage. There are a lot of real tasty dishes that you can prepare in no time flat. I am just not great at getting those to the table. However, there are moments of inspiration and then moments of madness. We are all like that right? This pasta dish took minutes and it was tasty. I know, I know, it isn't so much a recipe as an idea. Sometimes we all need a little push to the finish line. Today that is coming to to you the form of this very easy pasta dish that I scarfed down in no time flat. Basic easy flavours with a no fuss attitude.
I keep saying I am going to try to focus on starting a section of quick meals on the blog, and it never happens. I see so much of it all over the web and there are more books than you can shake a stick at. Easy quick dinners are a wonderful idea and can help all of us when time is running out. 5 Ingredient Tagliatelle
Serves 2 / Prep time: 5 minutes / Cook time: 10 minutes
4 oz Tagliatelle
1/2 Cup/50 grams parmesan cheese, finely grated
4 Tablespoons olive oil
2 Cloves garlic, crushed
Small bunch fresh chopped basil
Cook pasta in boiling water for 8 minutes, Drain and set aside.
In a large skillet set over medium heat, add the pasta, olive oil, garlic, parmesan and garlic. Stir well over medium heat for about a minute. Add fresh basil, give a quick stir and serve.
