From time to time things in life need a make over. Recipes are no exception. I already had a bolognese sauce recipe on the blog, but felt it needed a little something more. Recently, I upped that recipe to a new level and here I am sharing it with you all today. Despite it being mid July, sometimes it is still nice to dabble into comfort food . And you don't get a whole lot more comforting than a big bowl of spaghetti.
Summer cooking and eating at it's best. That is my best explanation of this super easy and summer flavoursome warm chicken salad. Easy, fresh, healthy and delish! Sweet paprika gives the chicken a almost smokey flavour, along with grilled vegetables, fresh tomatoes and salty feta. What a summer fresh combo. Make is for your yourself this week!
Kids can cook! Yes, my life in on the up and up because my 12 year old made these and has taught me all about Buñuelos. Who knew? What other secrets does he have I wonder.
I am in love with these and may have just found my new favourite sweet treat. They are easy, like really easy. If my kid can make these, anyone can. I am not knocking his ability, but he really doesn't cook. Admittedly, the sugar cinnamon coating was my touch, but the rest was all on him. Don't they just look like little bites of perfection? If you have never had a buñuelo, they are pretty much like doughnut holes. The cake kind not the yeast kind. Great to go with a cup of coffee, to take for your co workers or share with your friends.
First things first today, Happy Canada Day! I may be a displaced Canadian living in a far away land, but it's still my heart's home and all that it entails. So a big Happy Birthday to you today!
If you are in Canada, how are you celebrating today? I know barbecues are always hot properly where I come from on this holiday. A few people or a crowd, firing up the grill, cracking a few cold ones and turning up the tunes. Quite often "Bay Rock". Those are my memories of all the days I spent celebrating this holiday back home.
Now in my very far away land, I still celebrate with my little family and try to keep traditions alive. We will celebrate later today with some hunk of meat on the grill, maybe a glass of wine or two, and I am sure some big haired band from the 80s will be belting out a few tunes on the stereo.
Traditions are great. Happy Canada Day!
Oh...my....goodness! These are almost too good to eat. Yes, almost. I am probably going to have to say this is the best combination of flavours, ever. I have had brownies, cream cheese brownies, raspberry cheesecake, chocolate cheesecake and so many more combinations that include all three. However, these are the best by far. Hands down. Enough said!
