Every great pizza has to start with a great sauce. There is no way around it, the sauce is essential. This is my go to pizza sauce and never ever fails to taste great. I have played around with making pizza sauce using different recipes with both the cooked and non cooked method. Hands down, this is the best one I have come up with. So next time you are about to make a pizza, don't go for a the jar sauce, give this a try and it might just become your new favourite as well!
This recipe has been kicking around in my mind for a long time now. I saw it in an old cookbook sometime back and thought I should make them. Well, I just kept forgetting about them until recently when they have been popping up on Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest and you name it. Just everywhere. I don't know what is going on, but a lot of people have been making these lately, so why not jump on the bandwagon. I did and they are a great, quick fast and easy substitute to dinner rolls for soups, stews, salads and more.
I don't make a whole lot to salads per say in winter. I always associate salads with hot days, sultry sunsets, a big glass of something cold and flip flops. Maybe I have to kick that notion and start making more salads in the winter. This salad sure brightened up a very cold January day. Yes, like freezing! The temperatures actually plummeted to zero degrees. Now, that is pretty darn cold for these parts. I even had to scrape the wind shield with a CD case. There is a first time for everything.
Dessert doesn't always have to be difficult or time consuming. Sometimes, it can take minutes to make and you are done! How wonderful is that. As much as I love making most things from scratch and labouring over desserts, there isn't always time. These Nutella pastries are perfect for those days when you want a sweet treat but don't have all that time. Light and flaky on the outside and creamy chocolate on the inside. A great way to start a Monday morning I say! Did I say dessert?
The temperatures are plummeting in these parts and I really need to warm up. There is nothing that can warm you up as good as a hot bowl of smooth & velvety soup. This soup is hearty, warming, rich in flavour and just downright good. The spices are what bring this soup to a higher level and gives it all it's flavour. Well, at least a lot of it's flavour. The rest of it comes from the roasted vegetables. A great warming soup to keep on the back burner for the cold months to come. Let's dive into a bowl!
